An Athletic Presbyterian

(April 2010) While we Presbyterians may not all be able to claim to be athletic - at least one of our number can. One of the inaugural twelve inductees into Hamilton's new Sports Hall of Fame on March 31st., 2010, Rower Mel LaForme, has Presbyterian ties. An Olympic competitor in rowing in 1976 and 1988, a gold and bronze medal holder in world rowing competition and a multi medal winner in the Pan Am Games, Mel LaForme, is certainly deserving of this recognition. Mel has a long standing association with Chalmers Church, Hamilton, and the 26th. Scout Group based at Chalmers. Congratulations Mel!

Three members of the Chedoke congregation and the Rev. Stephen Jenvey of West Flamboro are the Hamilton area members of the team. They are scheduled to leave Canada on February 13th. and return on February 23rd. We look forward to hearing more of their experience.
